   FAQs - Routers & Firewalls:

I am using NORTON INTERNET SECURITY and have openend port 8080, but still cannot see the live video. As soon as NIS is deactivated, the live image shows up correctly.

Network IP Camera uses port 8080 as the default Image Transfer Port. Norton Internet Security does not allow incoming traffic on that port.
We therefore recommend to change the Image Transfer Port of the camera from the default values 8080 to a different value, i.E. 8081. Specially if you plan on showing the live camera image on your web site you should change the Image Transfer Port.

Here is how you can change it:

    1. Login to your camera as "administrator"

    2. Open the Administrator Menu

    3. Change the "Image Transfer Port" from 8080 to something else, i.E. 8081.

    4. Hit SUBMIT.

That's it. The camera will now send out the image information on a different port. Norton Internet Security will no longer block the data traffic.

Keep in mind that you need to adjust the port forwarding in your router, should you have installed one. Otherwise your camera won't be accessable from the Internet.
